Aiming to empower and rehabilitate the most neglected & deprived differently abled community of the society along with giving them affordable Therapeutic services by skilled and trained Therapist, the Organisation PUNARBASA first constituted on 15th August, 2009 on the guidance and vision of Dr. Biraja Routray (A Spinal Injured Quadriplegic Person).

The voluntary organisation “PUNARBASA” was established with the objectives for awareness of rights and rehabilitation of physical & mentally challenged .

It has been registered on 11th December 2009 under the Society Registration Act 1860 in the District of Kendrapara, the RPwD Act, 2016, Department of Social Security and Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities, Govt. of Odisha Regd. No.- 312/SSEPD of 2019, under Niti Aayog and National Trust Act, 1999.

Since its formation, the organisation has been working relentlessly for the Rehabilitation, Empowerment, Upliftment, Therapeutic Care, welfare of disables, Grooming of Artistic Talents, Financial Assistance, Scholarship, Sponsorship Support to PwDs persons belonging to Kendrapara District.

One regular physiotherapy and counselling centre is functioning under this organisation since October 2010, which is providing physiotherapy and other Rehabilitational services with minimum fees along with free counselling for rehabilitation in its physiotherapy and Rehab Centre which is also registered under Clinical Establishment Act, 2010.

Apart from that to create awareness of different disability Issues and Rights, our organisation is also conducting various Awareness activities including publication of first ever Bilingual Bimonthly Newspapers on disabilities Issues for differently abled readers along with books and booklets on different types of disabilities for understanding of the common readers and having disabilities and also for creating awareness among citizens against the prevailing superstations and social stigma connected with disability in our society with this noble objectives and for the holistic rehabilitation of the differently abled of Kendrapara District.
