Prosthetic & Orthotics Support Distribution Camp held on 13th June, 2025

PUNARBASA’ organized a Prosthetic & Orthotics Support Distribution Camp at its Rehabilitation Therapy Centre with the support of Banchanidhi Das and Smt. Devi Charitable Trust. Earlier this month, prosthetic measurements of 10 children were taken in the first phase. Accordingly, prosthetic and assistive devices were distributed to the beneficiaries during the programme held on Thursday at the Therapy Centre.

The programme was attended by physician Dr. Vishwaprakash Kanungo, Shri Guruprasad Mohanty, President of Kendrapara Urban Cooperative Bank, Shri Achitra Narayan Prasad Giri, Executive Officer of Kendrapara Municipality, and Shri Bhubanmohan Das, member of the Trust. They interacted with the parents of children with disabilities and encouraged them to maintain a positive outlook towards their special children.

Senior therapists Shri Girija Shankar Khuntia and Smt. Gitanjali Behera from SMRG Foundation, a prosthetic device manufacturing organization based in Bhubaneswar, distributed the devices and demonstrated their proper use to the children and their parents.

The therapists also shared valuable suggestions regarding the utility and maintenance of the assistive devices. Biraja Routray, Founder and Chief Advisor of PUNARBASA, coordinated the programme and expressed gratitude to Professor Emeritus Dr. Debendra Kumar Das of the University of Alaska, USA, for his continued support through the affiliated Trust

The programme was also attended by members of the institution, including Jyotiranjan Nayak and Mohammed Zahid Khan, who extended major support in organizing the event. Assistant Secretary Bansidhar Mohanty delivered the vote of thanks.
