A prosthetic and orthotic measurement camp was organised jointly by PUNARBASA Rehabilitation Institute and Banchanidhi Das & Smt. Devi Charitable Trust, which has been providing therapy services to children with intellectual disabilities in Kendrapara district for many years

The camp was conducted at the Therapy Centre of PUNARBASA at Madhapur, where measurements were taken for prosthetic and assistive devices for the legs and hands of 10 children with cerebral palsy. Senior therapists Girijashankar Khuntia and Rashmibala Behera, along with technical assistant Shyamsundar Sarangi, carried out the measurements for these special children.

Former Kendrapara District Social Security Officer Prabhas Chandra Das attended the programme as a guest. Chief Advisor of the institute Biraja Routray and Assistant Secretary Bansidhar Mohanty interacted with the guardians of the children and the prosthetic team that had come from Bhubaneswar.

Dr. Debendra Kumar Das, Chief Advisor of Banchanidhi Das & Smt. Devi Charitable Trust and Professor at the University of Alaska, USA, extended support for providing these prosthetic devices to the special children.

Physiotherapist Rachita Jena, organisation members Mohammad Zahid Khan, Ranjan Swain, Gayatri Prusty, Deepak Sahu, and Trust representative Bhubanmohan Jena actively collaborated in the management of the camp. The children selected during the measurement camp will be provided with prosthetic devices later this month, informed Jyoti Ranjan Nayak, Vice-President of the Rehabilitation Institute
