Inaugural Function of the Therapy Centre for Children in presence of Hon’ble Chief Guest Shri Raghuram R. Iyer, IAS, Collector & District Magistrate, Kendrapara, Hon’ble Guest District Social Security Officer Sangram Kesari Beura, Shri Dilip Kumar Nayak, Administrative Officer, DHH, Kendrapara, Paediatric Specialist Dr. Kishore Mishra of DHH, Kendrapara, Senior Most Physician of the District Dr. Biswaprakash Kanungo and Former DSSO, Kendrapara Shri Pravas Chandra Das.

An exclusive therapy centre for children was inaugurated at Amar Udyan Mandap, Madhapur, Kendrapara by the organization PUNARBASA, which has been working for more than a decade in the field of therapy services, awareness and empowerment of persons with disabilities in Kendrapara district.

The therapy centre has appointed physiotherapists, occupational therapists and a physiotherapist-cum-special educator to provide therapeutic services to children with cerebral palsy, locomotor disabilities, autism and various developmental disabilities

District Magistrate Raghuram R. Iyer officially inaugurated the centre as the Chief Guest. Other distinguished guests included eminent social worker and renowned physician Dr. Biswa Prakash Kanungo, senior paediatrician Dr. Kishore Chandra Mishra, Administrator of Kendrapara District Headquarters Hospital Dilip Chandra Nayak, and District Social Security Officer Sangram Keshari Beura

The dignitaries expressed hope that the centre would emerge as a major institution for therapy and rehabilitation services for children with disabilities in the district. They also expressed satisfaction after visiting the centre and observing the necessary equipment, barrier-free ramps, accessible toilets and overall arrangements.

PUNARBASA Advisor and former District Social Security Officer Prabhas Chandra Das conducted the programme. Physiotherapist Gunjan and Speech Therapist Shivani Bhola provided detailed information regarding the therapeutic services available at the centre.

PUNARBASA Supervisor Sanjiv Jena, along with Ranjan Das, Swapnanshu Kumar Das, Akshay Kumar Pani, Mohammed Zaid Khan, Niranjan Mekap, Seshadeb Das, Jyoti Ranjan Nayak and other staff members and workers of PUNARBASA, actively collaborated in making the programme successful.
