Celebration of SPINAL INJURY AWARENESS DAY on 5th SEPT 2024:
The spinal injury awareness a was observed by the voluntary organization PUNARBASA on 5th September in its Therapy centre at Madhapur Kendrapara. The specialist, medical professionals, physiotherapist along with the district social security officer also present during this occasion and through lives on these various aspects of this injury. The meeting was presided by the founder com Chief Advisor of the organization Dr Biraja Routray. 7 number of spinal injured survivors belongs to different parts of the districts of Kendrapara participated on this Programme and shared their horrible experience of the trauma that led to convert their life with disability. As all know spinal cord injury disability is the most vulnerable type of disability out of the total 21 type of disabilities. It also comes under the category of Locomotor disability. During this awareness Programme Doctor Birendra Ku Das, Senior surgery specialist of DHS Kendrapara, Doctor Monali MadhuSmita, Former asst Professor of Yoga and Naturopathy of North Odisha Medical college, Dr Biraja Routray Founder of PUNARBASA and physiotherapist Rachita Jena presented and discussed about the various ACI issues and its challenges. To extend a token of assistants, daily Urinary management kits for a period 6 months were distributed to all seven spinal cord injury survivors by the honourable guest of that Programme. Asst secretary Banshidhar Mohanty along with other support staffs of the origination helped in conducting this Programme.
Among others, Mayor Rashmita Singh, Narasingh Charan Tripathi, Kshirod Kara, Kiranbala Chowdhury and Kanakalata Behera of the Council were prominently present. Finally, Mohanty, co-editor of the Institute, gave vote of thanks.
